I had to re-upload this little edit of the Vans Warped Tour Qualifier on the mini-ramp at Schoolyard Skatepark from a couple weekends ago because of some copyright issues. Anyway, here it is. Thanks to Demon Seed Skateboards, Westside Skateshop, and Schoolyard Skatepark for putting this on. See you guys at the Vans Warped Tour in Vinoy Park next weekend. – Nicks
The very highly anticipated Daylando did not disappoint…actually, the video absolutely killed it. The new full-length from TJ Gaskill features full parts from some of Florida’s finest up-and-coming rippers: Blake Carpenter, Dalton & Kanaan Dern, Garrett Miller, Kevin Shealy, Kevin Sikes, RL Durham, Thomas Burke, Timmy Knuth, and Wyatt Woodward. The quality of the skating, filming, editing, spot & music selection is as good as it gets…you would think these kids were seasoned vets. Daylando is 50 minutes of pure shredding and 30 “Bonus” minutes of some hi-jinx type action. Support skateboarding in Florida and pick up a copy of Daylando for yourself. There is an empty spot in your skateboarding video collection where Daylando is supposed to go. – Nicks

Birdhouse Skateboards just announced their 2011 Summer Tour “MIA 2 NYC”, Presented by Quiksilver. There are three Florida stops on the tour: August 21st in Miami at West Wind Skatepark, August 22nd in Tampa at the Skatepark of Tampa, and August 23rd in Jacksonville at Kona Skatepark! Should be sick considering this:
Carlos Leon’s 40″ Ollie was enough to win the “High Ollie” Contest.
Connor Askew’s Frontside Nosebluntslide all the way through the corner and across this ledge won the “Best Trick” Contest.
Ricky Vipperman’s buttery Frontside Flip was good enough for a bunch of free swag.
What a perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Thanks to Donny Barley, Element Skateboards, and Johnny King @ Orlando Skatepark for making it happen.
