The Future of No Comply Skateboard Mag

I was holding on to these two photos for the purpose of using them in the first print issue of No Comply Skateboard Mag. In January of 2013, the mag will be 2 years old. I really wanted to release the first print issue of the mag in January in conjunction with the 2 Year Anniversary. But, over the last few weeks I have been doing a lot of thinking. I have unfortunately, come to the conclusion at this point, that I am not going to be doing a print issue of the mag. At least, not for now. This doesn’t mean that it is totally out of the equation. It just means that, based on where I have placed my priorities in life at the present moment, it just doesn’t make the list. I have decided to focus my efforts (After Family, Friends, and Work) on continuing to evolve the website, shooting more photos, learning how to shoot video, and on growing my new apparel and accessories brand No Comply.

That being said, I am stoked more and more every day on how the mag has grown and on all of the rad people that I have met (and reconnected with) over the past two years as a result. It’s also really cool to hear all of the positive feedback from people that I meet. That means a lot! Thank you. Anyway, I hope everyone continues to enjoy the mag. Cheers! -Nicks

The History of Skatepark of Tampa | SPOTS – Part 1 of 2

The RIDE Channel’s newest SPOTS features the infamous Skatepark of Tampa. The story behind the Skatepark of Tampa is one that is crazy and rich in history, and is one that every skateboarder should hear. The Skatepark of Tampa, has not only done so much for skateboarding in the Tampa Bay area and in Florida, it has been an important part in progressing skateboarding all over the world. Next year, the Skatepark of Tampa celebrates 20 years, it is amazing to think about how far they have come. I don’t think they are going anywhere soon. Enjoy!

Brandon Bowl Sesh

Nice random bowl session at the brand new park in Brandon/ Riverview, Florida. Todd Morrow, Jacob Krajewski, Chris (?), Drew Hoffman, Curt Baker, Anthony Furlong, Mike Frazier, Tillman Hazelton, Joe Storm, Poptart…and special surprise guests Darren Navarette and Al Partenen make skating this bowl look easy. Word is that the park is free until September and is located at 5810 Providence Road in Riverview.  Team Pain Skateparks did one hell of a job on this place!
