Saturday night during Tampa Am weekend is always the night for the huge party/ show. This year’s party was extra big considering it was the 20-Year Anniversary Party. When the evening starts off with antics from the “Senator”…things are bound to get epic. Cuates, The Shrine, Killer Mike and Souls of Mischief all provided killer sounds and entertainment all night long, while the staff at CZAR kept the drinks flowing. – Nicks

Tunes | OFF! @ The State Theater, St. Petersburg, FL – 09.25.12
Punk rock and skateboarding…skateboarding and punk rock…synonymous. I grew up skateboarding and listening to bands like: Minor Threat, Circle Jerks, Black Flag, JFA, Agent Orange, Bad Religion, Social Distortion, etc…as I believe, most of us did. The message, the culture, the independence, are all one in the same. But, I don’t need to tell you that. Anyway, although both punk rock and skateboarding have both become more mainstream over the years, the passion in what has created who we are today is still as strong as ever. Not only has skateboarding come full-circle, but punk rock music has as well. The new generation of kids are as diverse in their skateboarding as they are in their music selections. More and more kids are skating pools, bowls, ditches, and vert ramps and listening to bands like Agent Orange, and Black Flag, and the Ramones…like it was the 80’s. Even their trick selection reflects this…I’ve seen more inverts and bonelesses in the last year than I have in 20 years.
Let’s also not forget these guys that are skating and playing music well into their 50’s these days with the same intensity that they always have. Keith Morris is the perfect example of the music aspect of that. Morris formed Black Flag with Greg Ginn in 1978, and after only a short time, left Black Flag to form the Circle Jerks with Greg Hetson. Seven albums, 15+ years, and a hiatus later, OFF! is formed. OFF! is Keith Morris (Black Flag, Circle Jerks), Dimitri Coats (Burning Brides), Steven McDonald (Redd Kross), and ex-professional skateboarder Mario Rubalcaba (Hot Snakes, Earthless, Rocket From The Crypt). OFF! came to be after a failed attempt to breathe life back into the Circle Jerks in 2009. Coats had been working as the producer on the album, and he and Morris already had several songs written, so they formed OFF!. OFF! made their live debut at the 2010 SXSW Music Festival in Austin, TX and in typical punk rock fashion, their first release was a 7″ vinyl EP called 1st EP. In December of 2010, OFF! released First Four EPs and in May of this year released their first full-length self-titled album.
I missed OFF! the last time they came through town, so I was determined not to let that happen again this time around. OFF! played with Negative Approach and Double Negative at the State Theater in downtown St. Petersburg, FL on Tuesday night and I had the opportunity to shoot some photographs. Enjoy. -Nicks

GSD 2012 Jacksonville | Autoline Street Best Trick
Here is just a little taste of how big Jacksonville, Florida did Go Skateboarding Day 2012. As you can see, thousands of people descended upon Hemming Plaza in downtown Jacksonville for shredding, music, an art show, a chopper show, an antique car show, and good times! Hemming Plaza is one of those places; seems like every city has one; where there are a bunch of good spots, but is a huge bust…tickets, boards being confiscated, etc. Well, this year, for Go Skateboarding Day, the city of Jacksonville, with the help of all of the sponsors, decided to allow Hemming Plaza to be skated, while also benefiting the Kona School. This is an edit of the Autoline Preowned Street Best Trick Contest. Full coverage of the entire event is coming soon!
Filmed and Edited by James Grosser for Autoline Preowned.
Brand New | Percent Apparel
Brand New is the “Product Review” feature on the mag, where we will showcase new brands, old brands’ new products, etc. Today we bring you Percent Apparel. Percent Apparel is an up-and-coming apparel company based on simple, straight-forward philosophies. The homie Nick Murphy rides for Percent Apparel, and if Nick supports it, I know it’s legit. My personal favorite is the “Porktasium”…who wouldn’t love to peel back a banana and find bacon!?!? – Nicks.
OFF!, Cerebral Ballzy, Feral Babies, & Retox @ The State Theatre
Keith Morris is a punk rock legend, and needs no introduction. Keith’s latest band OFF! played the State Theatre in St. Pete last weekend, and our friend Zac Tomlinson was there to snap some sick photos! Feral Babies, Cerebral Ballzy, & Retox opened and Keith also did a little “Meet & Greet” at Daddy Kool Records before the show. Check out the video below for Crawl off of OFF!’s First Four EP’s featuring 2010 Thrasher Magazine “Skater of the Year”, Leo Romero. Skateboarding and Punk Rock…like Ebony & Ivory.

Black Star @ Straz Center
Black Star (Mos Def & Talib Kweli) played the Straz Center in Tampa on Saturday night and our friend Zac Tomlinson was there to shoot some killer photos. Hard to believe that the one and only Black Star album came out in 1998…these dudes were way ahead of their time. Rumor has it that there is a new Black Star album in the works, slated for a 2012 release?
