Saturday night during Tampa Am weekend is always the night for the huge party/ show. This year’s party was extra big considering it was the 20-Year Anniversary Party.When the evening starts off with antics from the “Senator”…things are bound to get epic. Cuates, The Shrine, Killer Mike and Souls of Mischief all provided killer sounds and entertainment all night long, while the staff at CZAR kept the drinks flowing. – Nicks

The RIDE Channel’s newest SPOTS features the infamous Skatepark of Tampa. The story behind the Skatepark of Tampa is one that is crazy and rich in history, and is one that every skateboarder should hear. The Skatepark of Tampa, has not only done so much for skateboarding in the Tampa Bay area and in Florida, it has been an important part in progressing skateboarding all over the world. Next year, the Skatepark of Tampa celebrates 20 years, it is amazing to think about how far they have come. I don’t think they are going anywhere soon. Enjoy!
Insta-Ramp is a portable halfpipe out of Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Insta-Ramp is used at various skateboarding/ art/ music events across the state. On Saturday, July 21st the Insta-Ramp will be at The Bricks and SPoT Skate Shop Ybor Two Year Anniversary and ready for shredding! Don’t miss it…and next time you need a ramp for an event, give Insta-Ramp a shout.

Soft Hoagie Rolls didn’t waste any time putting together an edit of some of the festivities and skating from John Montesi’s 40th birthday party @ Schoolyard Skatepark last night. Congrats to Tommy Wray and Schoolyard Skatepark owner Tim Simmons for taking first and second place respectively in the Old Man Jam Contest!
Friday, June 29th, in celebration Westside Skateshop owner and Pro Skateboarder John Montesi’s 40th birthday…skating is FREE all day long at Schoolyard Skatepark! There will be a Best Trick Contest @ 3 pm and a 30 + Contest @ 8 pm. The following day at the Westside Skateshop Tarpon Springs location the annual Sidewalk Sale gets underway at 11 am, with another Best Trick Contest @ 3 pm.
John Partytime Productions and Schoolyard Skatepark in St. Petersburg hosted their first Pizza Party last night. Pizza, Beverages, DJs providing the tunes, ripping skating, a Best Trick Contest, and good times…what more could you ask for? Hopefully this is only the first of many more to come! Big shout-out to John Partytime and Tim Simmons at Schoolyard Skatepark for all of their hard work. Vans Skatepark Orlando is closing for good this Saturday, January 21st, 2012. Friday night however, there is a big “Farewell” Party with Tony Trujillo, Omar Hassan, Alex Pereleson, and a final session for free.

The Bricks and SPoT Skate Shop Ybor celebrated their 1st birthday on Saturday night, and in typical SPoT fashion they threw a rager. They even built a mini-ramp out back just for the occasion. The ERGO team was in town and they got in on the action as well. Nobody does it like the Skatepark of Tampa. Check out this nice little montage of all of the evening’s festivities. Get downtown St. Pete tonight for this! Saints & Sinners is a solo exhibit of brand new works by Chris Parks (AKA Pale Horse)…and it is ONE night only at Pale Horse Design and Gallery! Lots of killer new work, including a colossal interpretation of the “Last Supper” that spans the width of 12 skateboard decks! All proceeds from merchandise sales at the show tonight will be donated to Japanese relief efforts. This show is also just one of many events taking place tonight for The 600 Block After Dark Party.
